2019 | Music Exploration Day -- Friday, Nov. 15

You are invited to our Music Exploration Day on Friday, November 15. The schedule will include visiting with music faculty, sitting in on classes, and learning opportunities for all prospective students. All are welcome (even if you want to pursue a major or minor outside of music!)

Those considering music as a major and anyone accepting a music Fine Arts Scholarship will participate in a group creativity experience and an individual review of their performance on voice and/or instruments (we call this a performance assessment).  Your registration confirmation will include details on how to prepare for the day and contact information to assist with any questions you may have.

8:45 - 9 am – Check in 

9 - 9:30 am – Welcome and overview of day

9:30 - 10:30am – Group Creativity Experience 

10:40 - 11 am – String Side by Side

11:10 am - 12:10 pm – Sit in on available music classes OR attend Music program information sessions as available

12:15 - 1 pm – Lunch in cafeteria with group or on your own

1-3 pm, and again at 4 pm –Individual Performance Assessments scheduled (10-15 min appointments)

1- 3 pm – Options when not in individual performance assessments:
                      1 - 2pm –Music Program Info/Q &A session 
                      1:50 - 3pm – Sit in on available music classes 

3 - 6 pm – Observe or participate in ensemble rehearsals (optional):
                      3:10 - 4:30 pm Cedar Singers, Riverside Singers, Concert Band
                      4:30 - 6 pm Augsburg Choir, String Option, Music Business studio tour & hang out
